For those of you who may not be familiar with it, the Statistical Abstract comes out every year and contains a wealth of information. While most of the tables only show national data, some contain state-level or metropolitan statistical area data. The topics are extraordinarily wide-ranging. I've attached a copy of their suggested affiliate form. Quite a few of you responded to my earlier email (sent in January) about the annual report - if you've already responded, no need to reply again. I'll be submitting the annual report to the Census Bureau before the May 16 deadline. As I've mentioned before, the reporting for this is not mandatory. Send me whatever you have (either by filling out the appropriate parts of the form or just listing it in the text of an email) and I'll include it in the annual report. I'm also going to be including a note explaining that the affiliate agreements didn't take effect until September, so there wouldn't be anything for most of 2007 anyway. If you have any questions, please let me know. I'm also thinking about our next training session. Given the feedback from the last session, I'd like to focus on one particular topic and go in-depth on that topic. It would also be great to have a couple of smaller sessions held in a computer lab, making the training more hands-on. I know a couple of you mentioned having computer labs that could be used for this purpose. I'll send out an email soon looking for suggestions for the next training session. Thanks! Amanda Amanda K.
