This fine arts exhibit and show is designed to celebrate and foster an appreciation of the arts in Downtown Brunswick and create an annual event that makes Brunswick a cultural destination. The Brunswick Downtown Association (BDA) will utilize all resources available to insure the festivals success for the public, artists, BDA and the Town of Brunswick. Preference for future shows will be given to returning artists. Artists are encouraged to review guidelines and apply early for this first ever downtown art sale. Application and guidelines can be found at www.brunswickdowntown.com/festival. This is a juried show. A total of 50 artists will be selected from the top entrants. All exhibit spaces are on the sidewalk in downtown Brunswick and will have excellent visibility. Visual artists in the following disciplines are encouraged to apply: Painting on canvas or panel, Painting under glass, Sculpture, Mixed Media, Graphics and Drawing, Photography. Each category will be represented to form a balanced show. Cash and ribbon prizes will be awarded in each category and a $500 Best in Show award will be given. In addition, all prize and recognition recipients will be acknowledged on the Brunswick Outdoor Art Festival web page along with pictures of the art selected, the artist's biography, and links to the artist's web page and or e-mail. Prizes and Recognition are $500 Best in Show - sponsored by the Big Top Deli, $250 BDA Choice, $100 First in category - Ribbons awarded, Second in category - Ribbons awarded. Prizes and Recognitions will be awarded by a panel of judges who are all professionals in the field of art. Many outstanding local performers will provide musical entertainment. Jazz, Bluegrass, Folk, and Pop musicians will provide a very pleasing family atmosphere. Street performers, dancers, mimes and jugglers will also add to the festivities. Numerous cafes and restaurants line Maine Street, Brunswick. Discounted coupons will be provided to the exhibitors.
