[DOE-Arts] Arts Conference

I am very pleased to announce that the At the Creative Center: The  
Arts in Maine Schools conference has reached it's capacity of 300  
attendees.  Surprisingly, we've received over 100 more educators  
applications, phone calls or emails with hopes of registering after  
the due date.  Sadly, we've turned many away and would like you to  
know that we are unable to take any more nor are we able to let  
anyone register at the door.  The Samoset Resort conference space is  
at capacity.  The message is clear that we need more professional  
development opportunities and I will be sure to communicate this to  
my Department of Education colleagues and Commissioner Susan  
Gendron.  Thank you for all you do for students throughout the state  
of Maine and for arts education.
