I attended and presented a session at the Maine Middle Level Institute which 3 arts educators attended. I was honored to attend and participate in the first induction ceremony of the Brunswick High School Tr-M Music Honor Society. I traveled to Wells for the New England Assessment Network meeting and met with my colleagues from other states. And the highlight was "A Single Bracelet Does Not Jingle" conference on November 1st at Point Lookout. Pictures and information in the newsletter. If you were unable to attend, the next steps will be regional meetings. Please be sure and read the future newsletters for the details. Important info: The stakeholders group, appointed by the legislative education committee, has been meeting since early September working on recommendations for high school graduation requirements. If you'd like to know the details please communicate with the leadership of your professional organizations. Art in the Heart is meeting Nov.19th, University of Maine Museum of Art, Bangor, 4:30. Please note: During November 24 though December 3 I will be away from the office spending some much needed time with my family. Therefore, I will not be answering email or returning phone messages. Recently they performed a benefit show in Brunswick for Habitat for Humanity. The Mt. Blue Voices appeared on the show and were extremely-well received by the audience. Consequently, Curt has been asked to include high school a cappella groups in future shows (about four each year). Curt would like to know which schools have a cappella groups and if any are interested. He is eager to support and promote school groups. Please contact Curt directly if you are interested in learning more. jhrjcr at aol.com ** Just a reminder: During November 24 though December 3 I will be away from the office spending some much needed time with my family.
