I hope you are enjoying the fall, holding on to the last few warm days. I have thoroughly enjoyed my travels seeing the beauty of the leaves in different regions of Maine. Just a reminder that if you'd like to attend "A Single Bracelet Does Not Jingle" on Nov. 1st you need to register and submit your $12.00 asap. Information is in this newsletter and online at the arts ed webpage. Below is the link to the arts ed newsletter, #44. The newsletter is now being sent to 793 educators. I hope the number races up to 800 by next week. http://www.maine.gov/education/lres/vpa/newsletter/artsed44.pdf It has been brought to my attention that educators may not know where the newsletters are kept online. If you happen to delete this email you can always access the archived issues of the newsletters at the "News" page of the arts ed webpages at the Maine Department of Education http://www.maine.gov/education/lres/vpa/news.html I had a wonderful trip to Veazie and Orono schools this week for two days. Thank you to Nancy Connor for making the arrangements and attending to all the details for the wonderful visit. I will be attending and presenting at the Maine Association for Middle Association for Middle Level Education (MAMLE) conference at Sugarloaf. If you attend the conference, please be sure and say hello! Make it a great October! WHOooOOooo HOOoooOooOo!!! As of this morning there are 800 educators subscribed to this listserv. The majority of the 800 are teachers of the Visual or Performing Arts (VPA), some are other educators who care about the VPA's. There are a little more than 1200 Maine VPA educators, therefore there are several still not receiving the news. PLEASE invite your colleagues to join the listserv by contacting me. Be sure and reach out to new arts educators so they can be connected to Maine Arts Ed news. Thank you! There is still room at the November 1st event: "A Single Bracelet Does Not Jingle". More info can be found at http://www.maine.gov/education/lres/vpa/news.html I want to thank the many educators who sent me emails to let me know that they are unable to attend but are interested in the regional meetings that will take place during January, February and March. Watch the future newsletters for more information on them. During November 24 though December 3 I will be away from the office spending some much needed time with my family. Therefore, I will not be answering email or returning phone messages. I know you are all busy with the important work you do each day with students. Please take a moment and pat yourself on the back and know that I appreciate your work!
