I hope your summer is going well and that your August is off to a
great start. OMG... have we been fortunate to have such great weather
this summer??!! My last two weeks have been busy and fun! I tried to
write blog posts about what I've been up to and you can read and see
some pictures about some of the experiences.

Tomorrow morning I leave for the New England Arts Assessment Institute
in Plymouth, NH for three days. Rob Westerberg, music educator and
Catherine Ring, visual art educator will be joining me. I (or they)
will be blogging about the time there so hopefully you will get a
clear picture of what we are experiencing.

Almost 1000 people visited the meartsed blog in the last two weeks so
I know many of you are out there! Thanks for visiting. Over the next
few days I will be adding 4 more videos that Sarah Sutter has made
into 5 youtubes of the keynote speaker, Jason Ohler, from last week at
the MLTI institute in Castine! He spoke of the importance of the arts
in education today so please take some time to check them out. He is
an engaging speaker and certainly made me think deeper about education

A message from Robin Brooks: There is an elementary half time visual
art position available. If you are interested please contact the
Augusta Schools ASAP.

Below are the posts from the last two weeks on the http://meartsed.wordpress.com
