I hope your July is off to a great start and that you had a wonderful
holiday! I know you must be into the swing of a summer routine and I
hope that includes enjoying the beautiful weather we've been having. I
have been able to get to the beach a couple of times and it was nice
to see RSU #12 art teacher Kathy Sparrow at her part-time summer job
at Pemaquid Beach. I have enjoyed fresh fruit including strawberries
and raspberries fresh from local farms and our home grown broccoli (as
you'll see in the blog posts)!
I will be away from the office all next week, July 12-16th, so if you
need assistance please be patient since I probably won't respond right
NEW LIST-SERV and BLOG:
Some of you know that one of my responsibilities at the Department is
Middle Level Education. On July 1st the Middle Level Partnership made
up of representatives from MAMLE (Maine Assoc. for Middle Level Ed),
NELMS (New England League of Middle Schools) and MDOE (ME Dept. of
Ed), launched a list-serv and a blog. Maine's middle level report
Bright Futures is the driving force for the work so the blog is called
Bright Futures 4 ME and can be found at http://brightfutures4me.wordpress.com/
There are several new blog posts since you heard from me last. Topics

Thanks to those who have sent me information to include lately! The
