We've gotten plenty of rain in my part of the state that is washing the beautiful snow away. I know this makes some of you happy and others (like me) sad. The good news is that the days are getting longer, at the beginning AND the end of the day. Before we know it we will be changing our clocks and our bodies will be adjusting to a shift of when it is light and Springtime just around the corner!

Judges needed:
The Maine Federation of Women’s Clubs annual Student High School Art Exhibit & Contest is scheduled during the May 12th & 13th meeting in Augusta. Three volunteers are needed to help judge. Four MFWC Districts have held student high school art contests and have selected four winning art works from each district, to show at the May meeting. Included in the exhibit is the Membership Photography Contest which also needs to be judged. There are about 35 photos. First place winner receives $175; Second place receives $100; third place winner receives $75. The judging takes place May 12, from 9:00 to 10:00 AM. If you are interested please contact MFWC Art Collaboration Chairman, Barbara Hathaway by email: bhaway at myfairpoint.net.The MFWC are a part of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs and support the arts with art programs, projects and art opportunities.
