The arts assessment initiative is in full swing - during the last week the initiative's leadership team and the teacher leaders, have provided professional development opportunities to almost 300 Maine arts educators! Considering there are about 1200 arts educators in the entire state, 300 is a high percentage of teachers involved. If you weren't able to attend one of the 4 opportunities there will be several other chances during this school year. I will follow up with blog posts describing some of what happened on Friday at the statewide arts conference at USM, Portland, Arts Teachers Leading the Way… Back to the Future: Arts Assessment For Learning.
Coming up on November 2nd will be one of the 5 assessment webinars, the information on how to participate is located at http://www.maine.gov/education/lres/vpa/assessment.html. The topic of the session is Building an Online Arts Education Community with You. Please plan on joining facilitators Catherine Ring and Rob Westerberg with their guests to learn more about the online community being created! If you can not be there in real time you can access the archived webinar along with a meeting plan.

The following topics are the recent posts that you can access at http://meartsed.wordpress.com/
