With October winding down I am crazy busy and feeling very productive! The arts assessment initiative is well underway and by the end of the month the teacher leaders and leadership team will have presented and shared the initiative information face to face with over 400 educators.

Information is provided for you to stay up to date on the initiative on the blog and/or at one of these web pages: http://www.maine.gov/education/lres/vpa/assessment.html or http://maineartsassessment.pbworks.com

On Tuesday, Nov. 2nd Rob Westerberg and Catherine Ring will be facilitating a webinar called Building an Online Arts Education Community with You. During the session they will introduce the new website where you will be able to contribute resources and find resources. Please read today's post to get the information so you don't miss it. If you are unable to attend the session will be archived for you to access at a later date.

Just a reminder if you'd like to apply to be part of the writing team for the National Core Arts Standards the applications are due on October 27th. Please click here for the information.

On Halloween instead of giving out candy to the trick or treaters I will be flying to Phoenix to join my colleagues from the other states to work on the national standards. I will keep you posted on the three day meeting. I am extending my stay in the southwest to take a much needed break so please know that I will be unavailable November 4-11th. I hope you will hold your emails to me until after then.

Thank you soooooo much for all you do for arts education - the students of Maine are fortunate!

Make it a great last week in October,
