I know many of you are finished school for the summer and some of you have your last day this week. I hope that the end of the year activities have gone smoothly and FUN was involved. Please be sure and take some time to reflect on your good work and the impact you've made on students this year. I hope you've thought about a break (to breathe and reflect) before launching into your summer activities. Read Sunday's blog post: Everyone Deserves a Break! Happy last days!

This weeks blog posts located at http://meartsed.wordpress.com/:

  * Another Arts Teacher's Story: Ashley Smith - music teacher and MAAI teacher leader from Brunswick High School tells story

The Maine Arts Commission and Syntiro are offering a unique opportunity for arts teachers who'd like to learn more about teaching arts to the K-12 students with disabilities. Spend 3-days at Pine Tree Camp in Smithfield on North Pond. Applications are now being accepted until June 20. FMI please click here https://mainearts.maine.gov/Pages/Education/summer-institute. This should be an outstanding opportunity!

Mark your calendars for June 30 to July 15 and plan to make a contribution by providing feedback on the first public review of the PreK-8th grade National Core Arts Standards. Keep an eye on the National Coalition for Core Arts Standards (NCCAS) website at http://nccas.wikispaces.com<http://nccas.wikispaces.com/> or like NCCAS on Facebook at www.facebook.com/NationalCoaltionForCoreArtsStandards<http://www.facebook.com/NationalCoaltionForCoreArtsStandards> for details and information.
