Professional Development for Arts Integration
Teachers are invited to participate in a professional development opportunity that will focus on teaching methods used in arts integration. The Maine Arts Integration Collaborative (MAIC) is comprised of Maine arts teachers and an advisory team to  include Dr. Martha McKenna<http://www.lesley.edu/provost/creativity-commons/>, of Lesley University and Dr. Lisa Donovan<https://www.facebook.com/permalink.php?story_fbid=10152862392070562&id=82654875561> of the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts, both have extensive knowledge and experience in arts integration and will help lead the professional development process.
This professional development opportunity is funded through a Title II grant by the Maine Department of Education, is free and no membership fee is required to participate. Teachers from all arts disciplines are invited to participate for the 2014-2015 school year. The only requirement is that you are currently an arts teacher or teaching artist in a Maine school. Art Exhibit at MDOE

Currently, the students of Windsor Elementary School have an exhibit at the Department office (5th floor of the Burton Cross building in Augusta) The show was organized by Genevieve Keller who has been teaching visual arts at Windsor Elementary School for 11 years. As a gift to all subscribers she has created a slide show of the exhibit for all to view. This link will come as a separate email. Genevieve became National Board Certified in Visual Arts, Early and Middle Childhood in November, 2013. She graduated from The Putney School in 1976; and then California Collage of the Arts in 1980, with a BFA in Drawing.
