In recognition of Digital Citizenship Week<http://echo4.bluehornet.com/ct/49138941:28218869682:m:1:2840502144:5C23C4B6E34AC8BBAB098DED9EAEE8A1:r>, here's a fun ArtsEdSearch fact about media arts learning:
An ArtsEdSearch study found that students involved in an afterschool media arts clubhouse were able to make connections between the arts and other subjects such as writing, science, and math. Apps for Teaching
With over 65,000 apps for education it's difficult for teachers to find the right applications. Some apps are best for younger students, others are more complicated, better suited for high school students. Many apps do one thing really well, but not enough to help teach connecting skills. Common Sense Media<https://www.commonsensemedia.org/> is a place to locate and review apps by grade, subject, creative task and device, the site also has teaching materials for digital literacy and citizenship. Digital citizenship is usually defined as the "norms of behavior with regard to technology use." It encompasses digital literacy, ethics, etiquette, online safety, norms, rights, culture and more.
