Interested in learning something new without going to a class? Consider a Massive Open Online Class (MOOC) an open access, interactive online course. Two of the largest providers are below and offer a wide variety of courses.
edX<https://www.edx.org/> offers free online course from MITx, HarvardX, BerkeleyX, CalArts and many other universities. Topics include the arts, biology, business, chemistry, computer science, economics, finance, electronics, engineering, food and nutrition, history, humanities, law, literature, math, medicine, music, philosophy, physics, science, statistics and more.
Coursera<https://www.coursera.org/> is an education platform that partners with top universities and organizations worldwide, to offer courses online for anyone to take, for free.

Information about current and emerging arts and education research, policy, practice or issues of national significance.
AEP publications<http://www.aep-arts.org/resources-2/publications/> summarize and present information in user-friendly language.

Reminder:  Maine DOE Cross Discipline Literacy Network:  For the 2014-15 school year, the CDLN will include a webinar series entitled, An Approach to Discussing an Artwork and Encouraging Objective Viewing, for grades 6-12, among several other options.  The cost is $40 and the registration deadline is Oct. 13.
