Subject: Important events, news from Morris Farm -- Bo

Dear Friends,

This Saturday, February 9, from 8:30 to 10:30, Morris Farm celebrates
winter and Valentines Day (sort of) with our popular Local Foods
Breakfast. We are still looking for volunteers - so if you want to be
busy, and have fun - call Jess (our AmeriCorps volunteer and volunteer
coordinator, at 882-4080, or email her at jsaint at morrisfarm.org. If you
don't want to volunteer, we would love to have you come to the breakfast
- it's a great meal, only $8 per person, $24 for families.

Also on Saturday, as the breakfast comes to an end, Buckwheat Blossom
Farm will host Shearing day - Sheep and wool demonstrations... Fresh
hand-spinning fleeces for sale at reduced, on-farm prices. Fleeces are
long and lustrous, mostly Coopworth and some Coopworth X North Country
Cheviot and Coopworth X Romney/Lincon. All are clean, and some sheep
wore coats for pristine fleeces. The event goes from 10 to 2 p.m.

By the way, Jeff and Amy are looking for old tablecloths and sheets to
hold fleeces in. If any of you have some that you don't need or use,
they would love to get them - just drop them off at the farm.

On Saturday, February 16, from 9 to noon, come take a Winter Ecology
Snowshoe and Walk at the Farm. Andy Abello (who recently received the
2008 Lincoln County Tree Farmer Award) will talk about winter plant and
tree identification, animal tracks and winter birding. Hot cocoa and
cookies will be served.

I hope to see you at some or all of these events. Again, please call or
email Jess if you want to volunteer at the Local Foods Breakfast.

Thanks,

Bo
