This should be a great training and there are still slots available so please consider attending. The purpose of the workshop is to "Train the Trainer" in: 1. Economic impact analysis and how to use them, such as the economic impact of a local hospital or the economic impact of a rural physician 2. Community health engagement (planning) process - how to involve the community; and 3. Budget studies for new or expanded health care services Those attending the workshop will be able to measure the economic impact of the health sector on counties, communities or zip code areas in their state as well as at the regional, state or national level. Attached is the announcement and registration for the workshop, a draft agenda from a similar workshop recently held in Vermont, and the latest issue of a Rural Health Works Newsletter. Our goal in serving as a co-sponsor for this program and bringing it to Maine was to provide those people in Maine working on workforce and economic development issues an opportunity to attend this training. If this workshop is of interest to you, please register. If there are other people you know who might be interested in attending, please share this announcement with them. Please let me know if you have any questions about this. Thanks. Sally For more information go to: www.ruralhealthworks.org , or contact Sally Sutton at ssutton at usm.maine.edu or 228-8158. The new page location is: http://www.maine.gov/education/it/directory/hoes/tttmanual/index.htm. On this page you'll find the entire Train the Trainer manual including pertinent laws, forms, new curriculum and more. Items are listed in alphabetical order according to the tabs used in the Train the Trainer manual and I have noted those items which instructors need to update. You may download the entire manual at once or a piece at a time. Please remember that you MUST use the 180-hour curriculum and skills sheets.
