We have the applicants :

1-take the TABE reading test. 

2- bring a complete application packet with all required papers (ID, proof of HS grad or GED, etc), 

3- answer on the application  form "why do you want to be a CNA" and "How do you feel about growing old?"

4-brief interview, that evaluates- 
          being on time
          being dressed appropriately
          criminal background issues 
          whether they have considered the nature and hours of health care work
          and ask What are your strengths and weaknesses
We have pretty good percentages graduate and succeed in staying employed

I am hoping that you can help me reach as many Health and Medical
instructors.   This is my first time that I've had too many students
requesting my program.    I would like to have input from as many people
as possible that are willing to share how they narrow down who is
accepted into the program.   I want to be fair and I don't want to miss
any important steps.
