Last Reminder for Community Arts Conference
Dear Community Arts Artist/Leader/Volunteer
This is a reminder that the Crossroads for Community Arts
Conference is on October 18,
2007 in Lewiston. The conference is filling up fast and if you have
already signed up for Crossroads, thank you, if not please sign up
quickly to ensure you are able to participate.
Crossroads will provide the opportunity to learn, network, fund and
advocate.
Four tracks are offered on Marketing, Funding, Sustainability and "Hot
Topics" of Creative Economy and Cultural Tourism.
Networking will allow you to meet your peers, explore opportunities,
share ideas, collaborate and learn from one another.
Funding strategies come from the National Endowment for the Arts
represented by Patrice Walker Powell
http://www.nea.gov/about/Directors/Powell.html and Felicia Knight,
Director of Communications.
All this is offered in an affordable one-day conference. It is a packed
agenda for people who are busy. Opportunities expand for those who can
stay over or commute to the conference. Add-ons to the conference
include a reception at Gallery 5 <
http://www.laarts.org/visual/gallery-5.htm>, Lewiston on the eve of
October 17. This is a chance to meet presenters and your peers in an
informal setting. Stay to network, dine and relax on Thursday October18
in the evening-and hear Canadian fiddle sensation April Verch <
http://www.aprilverch.com/>in concert. Stay over night and attend
business and arts breakfast on Friday morning to hear from Fuel <
http://www.fuelmaine.com/>restaurant execs about how they support the
arts.
Registration is affordable at $80 for first registrant from any
organization and half price of $40 for second person from same
organization (staff/board/volunteer).
Find all the details, including signing up, at
www.fiveriversartsalliance.org. > A PDF of the entire
conference is attached with a Word Document containing the same
information.
This conference is made possible by a major grant from the NEA,
co-sponsored by Maine Arts Commission and Five Rivers Arts Alliance.
We look forward to seeing you all in Lewiston.
