[MinervaCats] distributor question

Bonnie et al,
I have to concur with Debbie, here. The same dilemma also applies to
books whose initial publishers have gone under or been merged into
bigger corporations--content, format, illustrations may be identical,
but we have separate records for the old publisher and the new. I can't
immediately come up with an example as powerful as Debbie's CARS
example, but I notice it frequently as I add replacement copies of
older books to our collection.
There ought to be a way within our consortium to make AACR2 work for us
and our patrons' best interests without throwing standards to the
winds. Perhaps a (South) Paris Conference of our very own?
