Hi Ann,
I just downloaded an authority record for this author. Since the name
appears on the book itself as "Toume", that is how it should be spelled in
the 245 |c .
However, the authority record shows that the 'established' form of the
name is "Tome" with a line over the "o", and so that's what goes in the
100 field.
Now that there is an authority record, when users do an author search for
"Toume" they'll be able to click on the established form of the name to
get to all of the works by that author.

[MinervaCats] Graphic Novel - Japanese translation of authors name
Good morning -
I have just added a graphic novel series - Lament of the lamb - one
of the bib #s is b21906117
My question - the author was translated on the cover as Toume - the
records I brought in before receiving the item have the author as
Tome with a line above the O - should I be using the spelling on
the item? the Z39.5 spelling? and if so what is the correct way to
add the other spelling for ease of searching the OPACs?
I know, just the question everyone wanted to start off a Wednesday
morning.
Thank you all,
Ann
