Dear Minervians,
I'm sending this to both Minerva lists because I want to make sure this
message gets to as many Minerva people as possible. At last week's
User's Council meeting, there was some discussion about being subscribed
to the Minerva lists, especially MinervaCats for catalogers.
I've just gone through the Minerva System Contacts page and have
subscribed 6 people who were listed as cataloging contacts but were not
subscribed to the MinervaCats lists. If you are listed as the contact
but do not do the cataloging, please let us know who does so that person
can be correctly added to the contacts page and the list.
Anyone at a Minerva library who does any cataloging should be on the
MinervaCats list, not just the official contact. The list is where you
can go to get help with cataloging questions, where the cataloger's
meeting minutes are posted, where you get the current Author of the Week
for database cleanup, and where you can get all kinds of tips on
cataloging, including Ellen Conway's helpful Tip of the Week. Basically,
if you catalog at a Minerva library, this list is for you.
Please make sure you coworkers are aware of both lists -- Minerva-L for
general Minerva issues and MinervaCats -- and are subcribed.
To subscribe to MinervaCats, go to
http://mailman.informe.org/mailman/listinfo/minervacats; to subscribe to
Minerva-L, go to http://lists.maine.edu/archives/minerva-l.html
Both lists have archives so you can see what you've been missing!
Please let me know if you have any trouble subscribing or searching the
archives.
Thanks,
Deb
