In recent weeks, people have experienced a problem where item records
are deleted after being transferred to a new bib. This happen only if
you are asked whether you want to retain the original bib record,
meaning that either your library's item is the only item on the original
bib or you have an unscoped "uber" cataloger login.
III confirmed that they have seen this type of thing happen before, and
have system engineers working on it. That means no fix is likely until
a later release of the software, but they can restore any lost item
records if they are reported quickly. Ellen Conway has been
investigating this & can report any lost items.
In the meantime, the workaround is never to retain the original bib
