Hi Susan--

Yes, this has happened to us regularly for years and years, but we've
never been able to find out why. We have a "problem box" at the circ desk
to catch these when they get returned...we estimate we get about 5 per
week on average. It's disturbing.

[MinervaCats] System dropping holding?

I feel like I’ve lately had a number items show up at the circulation desk
to be checked out that are no longer in the system. Some of them have
barcodes from when we first became part of Minerva, so I know they were in
the catalog originally. When I scan the barcode, there is no item record
and when I search cataloging there is no sign that we ever owned the item.

I’ve been told that you can’t accidently delete someone else’s holding
when records are merged, so I am at a lost as to how these are
disappearing. Anyone else notice this problem? Is there a solution?
