[MinervaCats] Status Question

Hi, Lisa,
If you're creating a list based up Create Date, which you probably are
for new items, records that were created before the period in which you
actually received the item will not show up.
One way to handle this would be to add a note to each item that was
created earlier. The note could be something as simple as "9/08" -- I'd
create a macro even for something as simple as this because if you
mistakenly enter 9-08 on one item it won't show up on your list. When
you create the list, look for items in the date range OR items with Note
equal to 9/08. You'll pick up any items that were added in that date
range that didn't already have an item record created with an "on order"
status plus any that were created early and just added that month.
I'm not sure if you've received any replies to this question from others
who are doing this, but this is how I would probably do it if I were
still cataloging.

Subject: [MinervaCats] Status Question
If anyone is using the status as "on order" or "consider" when creating
item records, I was wondering if you could share some of your knowledge
with me. I work in a school department and do the bulk of my book
orders
in June, but am unable to process the shipment until the fall. Because
this may take a couple of months to get all the books entered, I would
like to start entering the books now as I order them and put the status
as
"on order". The problem I am running into is that when I create a new
book list each month, the books that were entered as "on order" in
previous months do not show up on the current months list. Does anyone
have any suggestions?
