This is just a reminder that a series of cataloging workshops is being offered in July, August and September. I am particularly concerned about the session in July. As of today there are not enough signed up to offer those workshops. The schedule is below. You need to register on the events calendar as indicated. I cannot do the registration for you.

The following workshops will be offered on Tuesdays in the Maine State Library Studio from 9:30 - 12:30 during the summer. You will need to register separately for each workshop on the Events Calendar at http://evanced.info/maine/evanced/eventcalendar.asp. 

July 8 (Registration closes 7/1): MARC format -- Selecting and Editing Minerva Records -- When and how should an original record be created 

July 15, 22 and 29 ( Register for all 3 sessions at July 15 on the Calendar. Registration closes 7/8): Cataloging print materials 

August 12 and 19 ( Register for both sessions at August 12 on the Calendar. Registration closes 8/5 ): Cataloging non-book materials including sound and video recordings and other non-book materials 

August 26 (Registration closes 8/19): Library of Congress Subject Headings 

September 9 (Registration closes 9/2) Cataloging continuing resources including periodicals, newspapers, reference materials, etc, (Serial Web Sites will be included.)
