[MinervaCats] FW: New Location ticket

There has been some confusion when submitting a ticket for a new
location, so Tim Pellett just make a couple of changes that should make
it easier .

In the "Location Code" field, enter the 5-letter code you would like,
e.g., libnf, librf, etc. If that location code is already taken, of if
it's inconsistent with your other codes, I will ask you about it before
adding the new code. And example of an inconsistency would be if all of
your juvenile materials begin with libj* and you request a new code with
the j as the 5th instead of the 4th character. Being consistent this way
if helpful if you want to run a list of all of your juvenile locations.
If they all start with libj, you can use that format
(item...location...starts with...libj) to create the list, rather than
adding a line for each separate location code. I will ask, though,
because you may have a reason for the specific code request that isn't
obvious to me.

In the "Include in scopes" field, enter either your library's main scope
(main or Maine Public Library, e.g.) or Juvenile or Children's
Collection if you have a children's collection scope. It may seem
obvious to you, but I don't want to have to look up whether or not your
library has a children's scope and then assume which scope a new
location should be added to -- it's a lot more work and time to change
it than it is to add it to the correct scope to from the beginning.

"Display Name" is asking how you want the new location to be displayed
in the OPAC. Should it say Maine PL Juvenile DVDs or Maine PL Children's
DVDs?

In the "Enter loan rule number or location it should loan like" field,
enter the specific loan rule number if you know it. If not, enter an
existing location that the new location should behave like for lending.
For example, if you are creating a new section for Maine Fiction that
should loan like your libfi (Library Fiction) location, enter either the
5-letter code or location name.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks,
Deb
