If you have an item attached to a bib record Millennium automatically makes sure your initials appear in the bib record when it updates. The way we handle billed items here is to add a charge manually under the patron's account giving the details of the name of the book and what ever else we feel is necessary. Then we clear the item from the patron's record and delete the item record. That is the best way I have found to accomplish what you want to do.

Subject: [MinervaCats] Question about suppressing records
We want to suppress items that have been billed from the OPAC. We marked them suppressed in the Item Record and removed our initials from the Bib Record, but our initials magically re-appeared on the Bib Record! Now when the OPAC is scoped to just our items the Bib Record info shows up with no Item Record info, which is more confusing to the patrons than trying to make them see the three year old past due date. Any advise on how we can do this?
