[MinervaCats] MinervaCats Digest, Vol 33, Issue 2

Susan Winch SLW at scarborough.lib.me.us

I like hearing about everyone's favorites. We have four favorites:
Prospector, OhioLink, CW MARS and Noble and ocassionally MARIN and
Washington RLC.

Salt Lake, Princeton NJ PL, Bedford TX, Maricopa, Denver Schools usually
refuse or time out. Thease are the libraries I had in mind to drop unless we
can update their catalog addresses. Bedford TX and Salt Lake do work thru
the LC gateway.

We also would like to add Houston PL, Los Angeles for movies, and there
are a couple of others we could suggest as well if we're not constrained by
the number we can include.

Susan

Hi everyone,
Denise and I are wondering if any other catalogers would be interested in
seeing some of the consistently non-responsive public libraries removed
from the Z39.50 gateway list? One of our favorites, the Minuteman Network
(also an Innovative library) is not included in the choices and we would really
like to have that resource added. Perhaps there are others that you'd also
recommend?? Any thoughts?

That would be great.

I used to use Prospector (Colorado) all the time, but recently they are
usually non-responsive. I seem to recall that Minuteman used to be on the
list.

I would agree with removing some of the less responsive sites.

I hope Prospector will not be removed from the Z39 resources. It has been
(and continues to be) a great source of large print records for us.

I actually like Prospector and have good luck with them. Other good
choices are OhioLink and Keene State. I would like to see what is being
removed from the list before it is removed. I would hate to lose some of my
favorites.

I also consistently use Prospector with no problems. I think Minuteman
would be a good addition.
