Hi Katherine,
I noticed that we have several books in this series some of which also have the artist as main entry such as Gustav Klimt, Joseph Cornell, and Marc Chagall.  Many titles in this series, however, do have the text writer as the main entry.  Here is what I read in AACR2:
"If a work consists of reproductions of the works of an artist and text about the artist and/or the works reproduced, enter the heading appropriate to the text if the person who wrote it is represented as author in the chief source of information of the item being catalogued.  Make an added entry under the heading for the artist.  Otherwise, enter under the heading for the artist.  In case of doubt, enter under the heading of the artist."
 
I looked at some of our titles in this series.  None of them have the text writer on the title page.  In my opinion, the artist should be the main entry in these cases.
 
Does anyone have another interpretation?

Hello
   I cataloged "Dreaming pictures: Paul Klee", b23183901, the series  
Adventures in Art. I noticed that Paul Klee is the author, yet in the  
CIP the text is by Jurgen von Schemm. In other Adventures in Art the  
author is "text by" and not the artists. An example is "Edward Hopper:  
summer at the seashore", b24142396 author is Deborah Lyons.  So, why  
is this one book in the series not consistent with the 100 author field?
