The item records attached to this bib should be transferred to the various individual bib records for each numbered volume, since each volume has both a series title and volume title. The Minerva guidelines for cataloging require that graphic novels series with unique volume titles should be cataloged separately. If you have any questions about this, please contact me. If you are not able to transfer your records, let me know and I will take care of it. Thanks, Ellen -- Ellen M. If the series a composed of volumes by various authors, the added entry would be an 830 field, with the series title in the first subfield, followed by the volume number subfield. I have just corrected the series entries for the "Rangers apprentice" series. John Flanagan is the author of all these books, but many of the records had 830 fields rather than 800. When you import a record for a series, or attach to an existing bib for one, please check the series added entry and make sure it is correct. Please do not change these fields unless you are very sure that it is necessary. Thanks, Ellen -- Ellen M. It will only take a few minutes, really! We will use the results of this survey when making our plans for the coming year. Is this a record for a book on CD? It displays as a book on CD in the OPAC, and the record does list 7 CDs. However, we have had a very embarrassing mix-up at the circ desk, and an unhappy patron. She placed a hold on this item, and got a book on tape. She cannot play cassette tapes. BML's copy is definitely cassette tapes - I have it here on my desk. It is a Deadlock by Sara Paretsky, Books on Tape Library Edition with 6 (not 7, as is listed in the record) 1.5 hour cassettes, read by Donada Peters. It is copyright 1993. Is the OTP copy also on cassette? I am placing the item in transit to BML, with a note to send it to technical services. The problem is not with the DVDs themselves, but with the camcorder tapes the meeting was originally recorded on. When the camcorder tapes have to be reused (which was the case because there only are a limited number available), it appears there is potential for diminished audio and video quality. I have checked out portions of the meeting DVD itself, and frankly the audio quality is not very good in a mumber of places. The good news is the Minerva Executive Board did approve the funds to buy new camcorder tapes. Hopefully, the new tapes and using a different recording mode will improved the audio and video quality for future meetings.
