Dear Maine Educators,

The Maine Learning Technology Initiative (MLTI) is proud to announce the 4th
Annual Student Tech-team Conference. This year's theme, in partnership with
the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at UMO, is "M-STEM;
Maine Learners - Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math." Conference
sessions will include all sorts of applications of the MLTI device, ranging
from the arts to mathematics, from geography to science, from music to
literacy, and from social studies to foreign language.

The overall goal of the conference is to provide an opportunity for MLTI
students and educators to come together for a realization of, a sharing of,
and a purposing of the incredible potential of the MLTI. With a clear focus
on both people and technology, sessions will provide participants chances to
work directly with recognized leaders in fields as diverse as game
development, digital arts, music, GIS, digital storytelling, serious gaming,
digital design, and more!

While primary participant focus for this conference are users of the current
MLTI imaged device (http://www.maine.gov/mlti/2006details.htm) we urge high
schools who may be using an older device and image to join us as well.
Perhaps especially important to high school participants will be the chance
to interact with a place and with faculty members who may become part of
their college experience within a few short years!

Below are the basic facts, along with a link to the Conference '07 Web site,
which contains full information on sessions (as they are fleshed out),
registration, directions, etc. Hope to see you and the kids there.
