Re: Reminder - Regional Professional Development Sessions for Educators
I wanted to remind everyone there is still time to register for HS
Regional Professional Development sessions. The general session
meetings are not an “etched in stone” agenda but will familiarize you
with the basic use of web tools available on your new MacBook. The
goals for the day will be to: 1. Practice using three universal
literacy strategies and 2. Practice ways to develop content for
lessons using NoteShare, iTunes, podcasting and Studywiz.
We have also designated three of these dates for Math Sessions (see
dates below) which are being facilitated by Dr. Pam Buffington. The
Math Sessions are designed to introduce secondary level educators to
a range of online applets, tools, web-based resources, and exemplary
projects that utilize content centered technology application to
support mathematics teaching and learning. The primary focus will be
on the use of the open source tool GeoGebra. This will include
engagement specific to areas of known student misconception and error
as informed by research. This is an interactive session that models
strategies to support teachers and students in meeting national and
state learning standards for school mathematics and ISTE technology
literacy standards.
Please register for a session at: http://www.maine.gov/mlti/
educator/. You can find a listing of dates below. We’ve tried to
provide you with more options by scheduling two locations per day.
Please select only ONE meeting date/location to attend.
Thank you
Juanita
