[MLTI-HS] Last Reminder: High School Physics and Physical Science Teacher Meeting

Dear Colleagues,

This is a final reminder about this year’s Meeting of High School  
Physics and Physical Science Teachers at the University of Maine.  We  
are meeting on the UMaine campus in Orono on Friday, March 14, 2008.

We have an updated program outline included in the attached file.  We  
will begin the day’s activities in the Engineering Science Research  
Building (please refer to the attached map).

We want to bring together Maine physics and physical science teachers  
to discuss issues of teaching and learning, to present new  
demonstrations and teaching ideas, to showcase ways to get involved  
at the university, and to promote interactions between all involved  
parties.

We hope that high school and middle level physics and physical  
science teachers can attend!

If you are interested in coming and haven’t already notified us,  
please e-mail John Thompson at john.thompson at umit.maine.edu or Leisa  
Preble at Leisa.Preble at umit.maine.edu as soon as possible, preferably  
by Monday, March 10.  We can mail you a parking pass with advanced  
notice!

As in years past, we will be able to give 0.5 CEU (continuing  
education units) for participation in this meeting. If you wish to  
receive this 0.5 CEU you must: (a) attend the events of the meeting  
and (b) pick up your certification at the end of the meeting. There  
is no advance paperwork on your part; however, there is a $5.00 fee  
to have the credits registered.

Also, we’re still open to workshop ideas – please contact John  
Thompson if you’re interested in running a workshop.
