Dear MLTI Schools,

By the end of this week, we anticipate that all of the new MLTI
laptop devices will be delivered to schools. That's nearly 38,000
laptops shipped from China (not Maine!) to Maine (including China).
As we prepare for the new year, there will be many questions about
the management and policies for the new deployment. We are working on
a new MLTI Policy Manual now. In the meantime, we are also
maintaining Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) pages on our web site.
Please refer to these pages before calling or emailing the MLTI
Project team.

Deployment FAQ - http://www.maine.gov/mlti/deployment.htm
Tech Lead FAQ - http://www.maine.gov/mlti/portals/tech/index.htm

Both of these FAQs include a new RSS feed so that you can subscribe
to them using the new Safari RSS included on the MLTI device (visit
the links above, click the Subscribe link, then bookmark it.) Safari
will check back for updates to the FAQs and let you know when there
are new questions and answers.

In addition, links to these RSS feeds as well as one that tracks the
archive of all of the emails sent via this distribution list can be
found at http://www.maine.gov/mlti/portals/.

If your school has not already done so, please complete the School
Readiness Checklists online in the MLTI Asset Manager (http://
assets.mlti.org). Information related to these checklists are on the
front page of the MLTI Asset Manager. If your deployment contact did
not receive a US Postal mailing that included instructions related to
the Readiness Checklists and login credentials for the Asset Manager,
please contact the Apple Project Office, (207) 688-4501.

Thanks,
Jeff
