[MLTI-MS] Important MLTI Grade 7 Student Survey Request

RE:        Maine Laptop Survey Data Needed - 7th Grade Students

We hope you are having a good start to the new school year.  As we begin a
new phase of the MLTI program, we are asking for your assistance in
compiling some baseline data on your new 7th grade students and their
computer skills.  Would you please request all your 7th grade teachers have
their 7th grade students complete the online survey referenced below.  It
will only take students approximately 5 to 6 minutes to complete.

We need to collect this information from every school within the project.

The information we collect is important for many reasons.  It will be used
to report to the Commissioner and Legislature, to gather evidence for use in
applying for grant funds and to provide feedback to Maine educators.

Surveys should be completed by Friday, October 27, 2006.

Please be assured that any and all information provided will be kept
completely confidential.
