Dear Mailback Advisory Board members,
I am pleased to announce that we now have an updated site listing for
the mailback program available online at:
www.safemeddisposal.com/sites.html. We do have some sites that you will
not see listed there as they cater specifically to their own
clients. For example, we have multiple hospice sites that will be
delivering envelopes to the families they serve. We are also providing
envelopes to multiple senior housing facility residents through the
Maine chapter of Volunteers of America. We
are pleased that Rite Aid will once again be a key partner in this phase
of our program. We have Rite Aid locations throughout the state joining
our growing list of sites in mid-January.
In other news, we held our 3rd inventory session in Augusta yesterday
and we were able to catalog the remaining envelopes we have in stock.
The next couple of months will entail cleaning up that data which
consists of information gathered from
approximately 700 envelopes along with additional collections that came
in from the Maine Office of Adult Mental Health and private individuals
and households.
Our program is now open to all Maine residents regardless of age. This
information along with our site locations will be most important to
relay to all of our stakeholders. You can expect to see increased press
coverage around the program as we head
into the new year that hits on these points.
Marketing and word of mouth advertising will help us to get envelopes
into the hands of those who need them most during phase II. Please help
us spread the word about our program and its sites through your networks
when possible.
On behalf of the Center on Aging and our program staff and interns, I
would like to thank you for your support of the program and wish you
safe and happy holidays!
