Teens Making a Difference

Project AWARE's mission is to empower young people to lead in their
communities (www.projectaware.net). In August of 2008, we teamed up with
Video Creations, a private business in Kennebunk (www.videocreations.tv), to
hold a summer institute for video production. The Institute was held at the
University of Southern Maine in Saco for seven youth ages 12 - 18. Along
with a great service learning opportunity and much more, the outcomes of the
week were 3 powerful public service announcements about issues of concern to
these young people. They developed all the content, wrote the script, and
handled all production including casting, filming, directing and editing.
You can take a look at what they created at the following links ... and
please pass them on! (to see them in the best quality choose "watch in high
quality" at the lower right of the screen)

(for those of you unfamiliar with YouTube, these PSA's are now in the public
domain and making a difference. Anything you can do to spread the word by
forwarding the links and this message to others will help create a ripple
effect and engage more and more viewers)
