[Provider] Void Functionality for Legacy Claims is Now Available in MeCMS

[Provider Notification]

ATTENTION:  All MaineCare Providers Wishing to Void Legacy Claims

A modification to Void functionality was implemented to MeCMS on 12/26
that allows for the voiding of legacy claims.  Legacy claims are those
originally submitted prior to January 1, 2005.

For legacy claims, providers must submit a void against a Paid/RA
Generated claim at the header level. The system will not allow voids at
the line level.

If there is a claim which is in Adjudicated status (i.e., mix of Paid
and Denied lines), providers may contact the MaineCare Adjustment Unit
(contact names, phone numbers and e-mails are below) so that they can
void all the Paid lines in the Adjudicated document. Note, the
Adjustment Unit cannot void a single Paid line from an Adjudicated
document unless it is the only Paid line in the document. They must void
all the Paid lines in the Adjudicated document. The example below shows
a four line Adjudicated document. The entire document or a single Paid
line cannot be voided. Lines 1, 2, and 4 must be voided in a single
transaction by the Adjustment Unit.

Who to Call for Claims Adjustments

Medical Support Specialists (formerly adjusters) are assigned by type of
provider and the alphabet.  Alphabet applies to the first line on the
remittance statement.
