[Provider] 2008 CPT and HCPCS Code Release Information

[Provider Notification]

ATTENTION:  All MaineCare Providers

 

2008 new CPT Codes are attached.  These are covered by MaineCare
effective with dates of service 01/01/2008.  

 

At this time, the codes have not been updated to allow payment for an
assistant surgeon. 

 

In addition, the crosswalk between anesthesia codes and surgical codes
to establish anesthesia units has not been received.   

 

We are also waiting for CMS' final determination for ambulatory surgical
center groupings.  

 

CPT codes can also be accessed on the MaineCare Services web site at 
http://www.maine.gov/dhhs/bms/providerfiles/codes.htm 

 

Please remember that if a rate is present it does not necessarily mean
the code is covered. 

You must hyperlink on the code for the most complete information. 

 

In order to request that a non-covered code be reviewed for coverage,
please refer to Chapter I, Section 106-4 D.
