Temporary Provider Portal for Claims
The Office of MaineCare Services is pleased to announce the availability of
a temporary provider portal for checking claim status information within
MeCMS.  The intent of the portal is for providers to have a vehicle to look
at the status of all claims, at the header level, for all business statuses
including those claims that are suspended.  This is not intended to be the
long term solution for provider access to MeCMS, but will be in place until
the on-line opportunity and the full HIPAA transaction exchanges are in
place.  
This temporary solution does not provide line level detail or additional
information about why the claim suspended.  Providers will be able to make a
request for individual billing provider numbers, for any specified dates of
services and for any business status.  A results file will then be placed in
a secure location for provider pick-up.  Providers will need to obtain user
IDs and passwords by calling the phone number included in the instruction
manual available at
<http://www.maine.gov/dhhs/bms/innerthird/temp_prov_portal.htm>.  The URL
