ATTENTION: All MaineCare Providers
Some problems regarding payments and remittance advices have come to our
attention. These are for the payment cycle of July 9, 2007. The
following information outlines the issues and their resolution.
New Vendor IDs as a Result of Advantaqe ME
A new State financial system known as Advantage ME was implemented at
the beginning of the state fiscal year. This system created new Vendor
Identification Numbers for MaineCare providers. We apologize that
providers were not notified of this change prior to the implementation
of the new financial system.
The new Vendor IDs cause the 835 file names to change, as well. Here is
an example:
File Naming Convention:
Vendor codeO_RA IdentifierO_Date Time Stamp.835.dat.O.txt
As such, the change from old vendor ID to new would be:
Old E432052581O_295570000O_.07072007154743.835.dat.O.txt
New VC1000006961O_295570000O_.07072007154743.835.dat.O.txt
Delay in Payment Processing for Providers Using Clareon/Paymode for EFT
New EFT indicators for Advantage ME were not approved for the
Clareon/Paymode system in time for the payment cycle of July 9th. As a
result, providers receiving electronic fund transfers through this
clearinghouse will receive paper checks for the cycle's payment. These
payments return to electronic fund transfer with the following cycle.
Remittance Advices with Duplicate Lines
Some providers have reported that lines have been duplicated on their
RAs. This has been traced to a report generation and printing problem.
Additional dollars should not be included in payments as a result of
this problem. RAs for the entire cycle will be printed again, so that
providers will have correct documents to accompany the payments.
Hospital PIP Payments
Hospitals have reported receiving what appears to be a duplicate payment
for July. This is because the May, 2007 PIP payment which was
previously held was released with the July payment. This appears as
payments for FY08 #1 and FY07, Week #45.
Questions regarding these issues and their resolution should be directed
to MaineCare's billing and information unit at 1-800-321-5557, Option 8
or 207-287-3094.
This is a one-way communication. Please do not respond to this message.
