[Solar-L] Heads-up newly cataloged items not showing in MaineCat

I got an email back from III regarding the issue reported by John:
"This issue is resolved with a further patch to the same area of
software that we just patched. I would like to update your system with
this patch today or tomorrow. There is no downtime or disruption
involved."
So I just sent him a message saying go ahead with the update today after
5pm EDT. Please be aware that the next time you login after the update,
it could take some extra time to start Millennium. I'm not sure whether
the update they plan to perform will require it or not, but please be
aware of the possibility. Thanks.

Hi Janet,
I just spoke to John Clark about this, and he pointed out that your
example bib record was marked Non-Contribute in SOLAR, so that is why it
was not getting passed to MaineCat. I fixed that one, but it seems we
may have a larger problem, where some perfectly good bibs are not being
contributed, due to what might be over-cautiousness about the quality of
records that pass from SOLAR to MaineCat. I'll talk to Karl about
adjusting the criteria for that. If you come across other examples for
this, check the item's Icode2 and the bib's Initials, both of which
should be "-" not Suppress or Non-Contribute.
Meanwhile, the original problem described by John continues: items
appear normally in SOLAR, but show "No Local Holdings" in MaineCat. I'm
working with III to figure out what is causing this & to get it fixed.
I'll keep you all posted.

This seems to be happening to more than just new items. I was just
searching the catalog to see if I needed to order a new edition of a
book and noticed that though I can see my copy of "An Osteopathic
approach to children" in the DCB circulation module, it does not show up
on MaineCat and neither does CMM's copy. Both were cataloged on Solar
in 2005.

Good morning,
Good morning,
In the course of adding new items, I have discovered that they show as
SOLAR-no local holdings when you search for them in MaineCat. I have
alerted Deb and Jon to the problem and a possible cause. If you have
been cataloging new items since the software upgrade and notice this
phenomenon, not to worry, fixes are forthcoming.
Regards,
John in Hartland
