[Solar-L] Update on SOLAR outage

The solar server has developed some serious hardware problems.  Univ of Me
System ITS staff are working on the issue.  With Jon Forest on the west
coast for the Innovative Users Group conference, I am monitoring efforts to
restore service.  

 

There is a possibility that this is a complex issue - one involving both the
disk subsystem and the processor.  It is not possible to speculate on the
duration of the outage.  However, it is distinctly possible that it could
last through today at least.
