We have a tech service person from HP coming to work on the SOLAR software
this afternoon. We will probably need to take the system offline while he
works. The fix may be as simple as replacement of a bad hard drive.
However, hard drive storage is part of a RAID array, a group of drives that
work together to provide data redundancy and speed data access. When one
replaces a raid drive it is necessary to "rebuild the array". Sometimes
this can be done while the system is up. Under other conditions, the system
may need to be quieted while this occurs. Hence the duration of the outage
is unknown, but could be several hours.

Regards,

Karl
