Please excuse the cross-post.

I've had a few questions lately about SSL security errors when using the
MaineCat, Minerva or SOLAR OPACs, so I just want to clarify what is
happening and post a reminder of how to resolve the issue. This started
in the summer, when we upgraded system software on some of the servers
which required a secure connection. One of the requirements is that
each server must have one and only one specific domain name address.
Using an older address will result in a security error in your web
browser. Internet Explorer 7 in particular acts like this is a grave
and serious error. If you have not done so already, you may need to
update the links on your web site or public computers and patrons may
need to update bookmarks on their own computers. Here are the official
addresses for each of these catalogs:

MaineCat: http://mainecat.maine.edu
Minerva: http://minerva.maine.edu
SOLAR: http://solar.maine.edu

There is a press release about this which you can link to or copy and
post in your library:
