[SOLAR-L] [MELIBS-L] DCB Oddity

John,
I just found out this morning that there was an issue with III working
on the server remotely which resulted in the system clock on SOLAR being
set incorrectly. Because of this, backup processes have been running
during the day rather than overnight. That, along with the work that
III was doing, could explain the slowness you have noticed. I just
contacted III to straighten out this situation, so I hope it will be
resolved soon.

Please also remember that this type of inquiry about issues with the
SOLAR/DCB system should go to SOLAR-L rather than MELIBS-L, which has
hundreds of subscribers who are not using SOLAR. As another friendly
reminder, general support inquiries from SOLAR libraries should go to
info.support at msln.net rather than to Deb or I directly. Thank you.

Subject: [MELIBS-L] DCB Oddity

I have had an odd experience occurring within the DCB Circulation unit
both yeterday and today. When I begin the session for the first time, it
takes a very long time to get to the point where I can search requests.
Once in I do the usual steps to place a barcode in the record but when
that's done and saved, the barcode is not recognized when I check it
out. When I go back to see what's the problem, I find there is no
barcode on the record and I can't use the insert icon to rewrite it.

That being said, I exit the program, then reenter. The system is much
faster and lo and behold, the barcode is there where it wasn't before.
The same goes for the other records I had.

Is anyone else experiencing this or is it just a ghost in my machine?

John
