As most of you are hopefully aware, the statewide delivery system is
no longer functioning.
Because of this, and in effort to limit the number of new items
entering an already clogged pipeline, we are going to be temporarily
deactivating the online requesting feature of the MaineCat OPAC.
At this point we are also asking that no requests be submitted by
staff through the Millenium client unless you have an understanding
with the lending library and have made alternate arrangements for the
delivery and return of those items. For most purposes, following a
traditional ILL approach to requests will be a better option than
attempting to use the SOLAR/INN-Reach system for the time being.
We are investigating various workflow issues and how they should be
handled by SOLAR libraries, but in the meantime, it is safest to not
run paging slips until further notice.
If you have questions regarding MaineCat and SOLAR or other
systems/technical questions, please feel free to contact me, Alisia (
alisia.revitt at maineinfonet.org ) or Nelson (
nelson.eubanks at maineinfonet.org ).
For information regarding the delivery service, please monitor your
email and/or MELIBS for announcements from Dean Corner who is handling
that at the Maine State Library.
Regards
-James
